Java ME (CDC) Resources

This section contains links to developer resources from around the web, such as IDEs, CDC developer programs, and other similar useful information.

General CDC IDEs

  • NetBeans Mobility Pack 5.0 For CDC
Great IDE from Netbeans that integrates with just about every other toolkit out there. A MUST for every mobile developer. For the newbie, I would suggest downloading Netbeans and the Mobility Pack. It even has a Forms designer that makes visually designing applications a snap!

  • J2ME Polish
    Targets primarily MIDP application development.

  • eclipseME
An Eclipse plugin to help develop Java ME (J2ME) MIDlets.

Device-enhancing toolkits and emulators (not CDC specific)

  • SonyEricsson Java Tools and Docs

  • Motorola MotoDev SDKs

  • Nokia Carbide.j
A software development tool for Java Platform, Micro Edition (Java ME) developers that enhances the development and verification of applications for Nokia devices. It provides tools for creating Mobile Information Device Profile (MIDP) and Personal Profile (PP) applications and deployment packages, signing applications, and deploying applications to devices. It is also an essential tool for managing, configuring, and running emulators for various Nokia platform and device SDKs.
