Odontodactylus with Egg Mass Part 2!

Another great picture of a mantis shrimp clutching its clump of eggs!

Stomatopod eggs are stuck together using an adhesive secretion from special glands on the thorax of the female mantis. The egg mass is carried by the front thoracic appendages and constantly cleaned and turned. The female refrains from eating anything during the brooding process.
