The employee Connection Gap and how to fix it in your organization.

We’re in the middle of unprecedented corporate change. From navigating extreme physical and mental disconnection during the pandemic, to navigating the current (heated) debate about where and how we should work, many organizational leaders are wondering: What, exactly, is the state of workplace connection right now?

We surveyed nearly 400 HR leaders and practitioners and over 500 individual employees to find out. We wanted to know:

How important is employee connection to organizational success?

Do individual employees feel connected to their organizations?

Is there a gap between what HR leaders believe and what employees experience?

How are organizations facilitating connection in our new, hybrid work world?

How can organizations prioritize connection and do more to support it?

What we discovered about workplace connection:

Nearly 80% of employees surveyed report that they want to work at an organization where they feel connected to the purpose and the people. And 85% of HR professionals agree that employee connection is a critical part of their overall success as an organization.

But just 4% of HR respondents strongly agree that they’ve adequately addressed the challenges with employee connection at work. That means there's a major opportunity for organizations that can effectively facilitate employee connection at work.

In a new data-based report, we explore the complete findings from our surveys and offer key strategies to help organizations listen, learn, adapt, and close this Connection Gap to serve both their people and their business goals.
